Welcome to PURPOSE 4
Our priority is finding ways to help protect against HIV.
If you are an adult who currently uses injection drugs, we want you to consider a clinical trial studying HIV prevention. PURPOSE 4 is a clinical trial that will help us understand if an investigational PrEP medicine, lenacapavir, can be used to help prevent HIV for people who inject drugs.
“How Is This Related to Me?”
First, people who inject drugs deserve HIV prevention options that work for them. PURPOSE 4 will provide an opportunity to help develop more PrEP options without judgment or requiring you to stop drug use.
Answer 4 quick questions below to find out if you’re eligible to participate in PURPOSE 4.
Second, this is a chance to help change how medical research is done.
Most HIV prevention trials have not included people who inject drugs even though this community has been disproportionately affected by HIV. It’s time to change that. We are committed to developing HIV prevention strategies that can benefit everyone.

Our Commitment to Inclusion
From day 1, Gilead designed the PURPOSE 4 study with all people who would benefit from PrEP in mind.
